A baritone, conductor, voice coach, multi-instrumentalist, and published arranger, Tyler works professionally in various musical fields, including opera, choral conducting, and music education. Praised as being a ‘...an exuberantly confident singing actor...’ (Opera Canada), he has performed principal roles in a wide range of classical and modern repertoire with opera companies and symphony orchestras throughout Canada and Europe. Some roles include Masetto in Don Giovanni at the Edmonton Opera, Tarquinius in The Rape of Lucretia with the Calgary Opera, Carmina Burana with the Peterborough Symphony and Kitchener Waterloo Symphony. 2017 Tyler made two European debuts - Count Ceprano (Rigoletto) at the Statstheatre in Mainz Ger,many, and Baron Scarpia (Tosca) with Oper Rheinsberg. He toured China on a recital tour with pianist Carol Wong and soprano Sasha Djihanian pe,rforming a produets and classical arias programRoles in music theatre rolesde the title role in The Phantom of the Opera, Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, and a Western Canadian tour as Rolf in The Sound of Music.
As the founder, artistic director and conductor of Out of the Blue Chorus - a non-auditioned pop/rock/gospel/folk choir in Calgary with over 70 voices, Tyler is passionate about the power of the human voice and the spirit of community that unites and creates unique bonds through making music with others. He operates the STF Vocal Studio that offer,swhichal coaching, private voice lessons, and workshops for high school and community choirs.
Formed in September 2021, Out of the Blue Chorus was created to build a community of people who love to sing and share a desire to positively affect our communities through the power of singing together in harmony.

Tyler is the recipient of numerous awards and prizes, including top prizes in the Lois Marshall Voice Competition and the Jeunnes Ambassadeurs Voice in Montreal. A recipient of the Jenny Fieldman Scholarship, Tyler has a diploma in Piano Performance from Vancouver Island University, a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Wilfrid Laurier University and spent two seasons with the Calgary Opera Emerging Artists Program. He is currently studying choral conducting at Mount Royal University with Andrea Ciona and orchestral conducting with Gareth Jones at the University of Calgary.
